Multifunction Laser Printers
If you are shopping for a multifunction laser printer you are probably overwhelmed by all your choices. How are you supposed to choose from all the multifunction laser printers on the market? These all in one laser printer workhorses each have their own pluses and minuses so you will need to do your homework carefully. Research the links we have provided and read reviews on each model. We have included just one of those reviews below.
In today’s workplace, success has a direct relationship with efficiency. You have to be efficient with your financial resources, your time and your space to cut costs and raise profits. With a multifunction printer fax, simple photocopying, scanning and printing can be handled at one workstation freeing up the space, cost and time taken up by multiple machine use. Today I will be reviewing a compact and effective multifunction printer that would be a great addition to any small business, the Samsung SF-555P Multifunction Laser Printer. I have personally been using this particular model for the past five months and found it to be reliable, easy to use and best of all, not a space hog.
Toner cartridge installation and replacement is quite painless. Pushing a button on either side of the printer (with power off and unplugged) and pulling forward will allow you access to the cartridge bay. Simply unwrap the cartridge, remove all the tape, give it five gentle side-to-side shakes to prime the roller and slip it into the bay. The printer is equipped with many brackets to hold you paper whether right out of the package or after printing. Nothing ticks me off more than a printer that doesn't have an output tray and your document goes scooting under an adjacent desk when it's finished printing.
Also, if you plan on printing up some envelopes, you can adjust the feed trays to handle you specific envelope size up to a maximum width of 8.5" or the standard 8.5"x11" paper width. The front key panel is well thought out, uncluttered and very easy to use. All setup and menu commands can be easily changed with a couple keystrokes. If you require any help with the setup and programming, please check in your manual and it will help you configure the settings properly.
One function that will definitely save you money is the Samsung’s “SAVE” features. For saving money, Samsung has not cut any corners and has given the consumer a choice of four savings options. Toner Saver extends the life of the toner cartridge by a factor of two, although it states that it reduces the printing quality. As a little addition, I found that the quality on ‘toner save’ to be better than the normal quality on an inkjet printer and person wouldn’t really notice the difference. Continuing on, the “Paper Save” option saves paper by printing on both sides of the paper therefore reducing your paper costs by again a factor of two. Next is the “Power Save” option that enables the unit to go into a low consumption standby mode and only returns to full power when needed. Last but not least is the “Toll Save” feature, which will stop a fax if there isn’t a fax machine to receive the transmission on the other end of the line, which will save you some potential long distance charges. http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/sam555/
