Cheap Color Laser Printer

It’s not that hard to find a cheap color laser printer these days, but it can be frustrating to search for the right color laser printerCheap printers usually offer fewer capabilities to consumers than more expensive printers do, but they often provide more bang for one’s buck.  So how can you know where to get the best cheap color laser printer?  Take a look at the following helpful information from ConsumerSearch.com:

We found a large number of credible reviewers for color laser printers, ranging from home computing magazines to business supply Web sites. It seems that plenty of experts are interested in identifying the best among these big-ticket items, since a buggy printer can cause a busy office to grind to a halt for hours or days. PC Magazine, PC World and Smart Computing are the best of the bunch, with regularly updated reportage and established benchmark tests. Two U.K-based Web sites, PC Advisor and PC Magazine U.K. , also offer excellent roundups. Whereas manufacturers generally tend to jumble model numbers or offer different products altogether for European markets, in this case, businesses on both sides of the Atlantic have access to the same products.

Price weighs heavy on laser printer vendors' minds these days, and some are doing their part to become more competitive with inkjets. And it's price that makes the Minolta QMS magicolor 2200 DeskLaser (*est. $1300) one of the most popular laser printers among reviewers. The Minolta isn't the fastest color laser printer, and it doesn't even produce the best colors. But it does both well enough to make it the most cost-effective color laser, undercutting the prices of other manufacturers by several hundred dollars, and bringing color laser printing within reach of small offices or even home users who need more capacity than an inkjet.

Other budget color lasers, however, don't get nearly the same good press as the DeskLaser. There's a lot more competition once street prices reach $2000, and a lot of printers that match the performance of the DeskLaser just can't beat the price. The HP LaserJet 4550N (*est. $2000) gets kudos at PC Advisor, PC Magazine and CRN for very good print quality and excellent documentation, but the HP isn't any speedier than the Minolta. In PC Magazine's tests, the HP took over six minutes to spit out a twelve-page Word file.
