Inkjet Printers… Everything is Going to be Alright!
When it came to inkjet printers, I was one of the most illiterate people to have ever graced the electronics department. Seriously! I actually believed that, just because a list of “features” where shown below the price, that the inkjet printers would all come with free movies, I was that dense! Now that I have placed a significant time researching the markets and figuring out how to use those inkjet printers that were on display at Wal-Mart, I can finally sit down and write this article, telling all of my readers just what to look for within these amazing products.
The one feature that truly impressed me, that is, when I actually started to understand what it was designed to accomplish, was the Super G3 High Speed faxing. This system was truly revolutionary in its development, as it is actually able to save not only the more commonly dialed fax numbers, ranging between 30 and 250 numbers total, but it can also save all of the incoming faxes as well, up to a staggering 50 pages! The automatic printing of those saved files impresses me even more! Think about it… being able to automatically print off all of the saved fax pages that were accumulated while all of the inkjet printers were in use is truly amazing, efficient and practical.
Another feature that seems to be a given was the internal wireless card. This connection actually enables you to access the internet in order to send electronic faxes, as well as scanning images and sending them over e-mail. That is truly remarkable, yet I had no clue what the big deal was when this was explained to me. It wasn’t until I revisited the inkjet printers section and purchased one that I began to truly understand what this feature can do. After hooking up the internal wireless to our home connection, I was able to scan a plethora of images and documents and, only seconds after, were able to send them through the Super G3 system to a friend across the street. After he called me in order to complement my “brilliant” Photoshop skills, I knew that I had purchased a winner (as I have absolutely no idea how to use Photoshop).
So, you can see why I was so absent minded when it came to technology. If all of these features are truly causing me to jump around the house, motivating me to explain how everything works to the world, as if nobody else was able to figure this stuff out before me, you can only imagine what the clerk said when I originally questioned him at the electronics store back when I thought the word “features” meant motion pictures… “Everything is going to be alright!”
